IBS diagnoisis turning into somthing else?? ( rare disorder in digesting?

i recently just had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done after enduring 2 years of stomach pain! After having the scopes my doctor was confident in me having IBS, he had taken blood test while i was there just to make sure everything was normal! I got my results today and my doctor said i have a rare disoder or something to where i cant digest starches right, anybody else know or is dealing with this??? IBS to a rare disorder? what do i do now?

Its pretty common amongst uc and crohns sufferers. Thats why scd is a popular diet. Have you tried eliminating starches to see how you feel?

Do you mind sharing what he said this disorder was or any info about it? I've had ibs-type symptoms for a few years that seem to be caused by sugars and starches.

Is there anything he said might help you with this issue? Prescription enzymes maybe?

My doctor said basically it was just a starch malabsortion. Normal test range from 5-7 and i had below 1! He didnt give me any info on any meds or anything that would help, he just wanted to me to go on a starch-free diet! Im waiting on my nutritionist to call, its been about a week! I feel like this is just part of something bigger because i think they would have found this within the two years ive been sick and in pain! What is SCD diet? post chrons and uc patients get this before theyre diagnosed?
