Idk if this is the right place to ask and I've never told anyone about this cause i find it embarrassing For the past i'd say year sometimes when I poop it'll look like white fluffy tissue or something in my poop. Anyone else have this problem or know what it is? blush

Good for you for reaching out with questions.

what you describe is probably mucous, which is normal. You might see this more often if you are constipated.

Check out the Bristol Stool Scale for a better understanding of what your stool should look like.

Thank you :) Makes sense I don't go number 2 but maybe 3x a week, and sometimes its less then that. I hate having diarrhea But at the same time i get stomach cramp relief lol!

3x a week isn't horrible, but you can probably do better. I bet those stools are hard and pebbly when you finally move them.

Drink more water, increase physical activity, eat more fiber, soluble and insoluble.

I had this too! I was so freaked out I thought it was tapeworm eggs. I took a stool sample (ew) and my doctor said it was nothing. I think it's pretty common with IBS especially if you're stressed out. I had it for about a year and haven't noticed it in about 5 years, so I'm sure it will go away.

Thank you. I know I have ibs even though I haven't went to the dr yet, My mom and mamaw suffer with it & so does my 5 year old daughter. I've had one thing after another, so ive been waiting until I get my other health issues manged.
