nausea; elevated temperature during flare up

Hi Scarlet86, I'm also new, and I also have your symptoms! I have also experienced and still experience a phobia of throwing up, it used to be involved with panic attacks. You're the only other person ive ever heard of that has that phobia, its good to know im not the only one!

But the nausea I feel is definately there, its not imagined or caused by a 'panic' of any type. I get it before I go to the toilet. It can be really bad, like thisafternoon, i was washing the dishes and ended up bent over the sink and leaning on it feeling really faint and like i was going to be sick. The only thing that i've found so far that helps in any way is lying in a ball on a bed for a while until it passes. Its the most awful feeling. Especially when you're somewhere that you can't just lie down on the spot! I definately feel your pain ... the pain i get is nausea mixed with stomach ache.

i also get a temperature during a flare-up, especially at night and in the afternoons.

I am fairly resistant to vomiting too; I am pretty good at keeping my stomach beat down. However, there have been times when I was so sick with my gall bladder that I wished I COULD vomit because I knew it would make me feel better afterwards. That's when you KNOW you're sick!

Wow, a fellow emetophobic and hypoglycemic I find that I get extremely nauseous if I haven't gone to the bathroom for a few days. I will start sweating and spend the day on the toilet. This exhausts me. Once in a while I will stay nauseous for days, I take ginger capsules for this and they help me.

Hi Michelle, you’re not alone, I feel your pain so strongly! I suffered from the exact same thing for years and I still do, especially in situations (like you said, in the car) where you feel trapped, and like you’re going to be sick, and the fact that you’re in a confined and inconvenient space makes it sooooo much worse! I used to get similar attacks on my school bus for years during high school, and at year-meetings and in class. Id suddenly have this urge, I was positive I was going to be sick any second, I would go all pale and my heart would race at a million miles an hour and I felt really faint. I eventually put it down to panic attacks, but now that I’ve developed IBS, I find it difficult to separate the two. Because anxiety brings on IBS, or makes it worse, or both. So when I get that nausea I try to relax and breathe, and hold myself back from making a bowel movement, trying to discipline my body! I'm just glad I'm not the only once, I haven’t told a soul that I have these problems because I know nobody would understand.

oh it definately does! Just knowing I'm not alone and that somebody somewhere out there understands! Its been a secret ive been keeping all my life, too embarrased to tell anyone, so it's a big relief to get it out!
