Hi all,
I have been an IBS sufferer for many years, but yesterday I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I was prescribed Cipro and Flagyl AND put on a clear liquid diet. It is obvious that those two things--the antibiotics and a clear liquid diet--are not compatible. I'm already running to the bathroom with the "big D" after one dose of both. Is there anyone out there who has suffered from diverticulitis who could tell me if there is anything I can take on a clear liquid diet that will prevent these strong antibiotics from causing diarrhea and worse stomach cramps than I'm already having? Also, my doctor said I should be starting to feel better (from the pain caused by the diverticulitis) within a day or two. From your experience, is that a reasonable estimate? Thanks in advance for any advice/input. And I thought IBS was bad!!!
