I don't know the exact cause of my gut issues but long story short this is what happened:
1.) Food poisoning
2.) Drank 1 year old, previously opened red wine which turned into vinegar and burned my oesophogus when I drank it and possibly caused Gastritis.
3.) Started getting severely constipated and had abdominal pain after eating. I got prescribed Buscopan Forte which worsened my constiaption.
4.) Develoepd Rectal prolapse from excessive straining.
5.) Diagnosed with Fecal impaction via X-ray.
6.) Drank soda while constipated which caused my lower colon to expand like a balloon continuisoly for 5 minutes and it was extremely painful and I’m afraid that could be the cause of my Slow colonic transit or Redundant colon that I was diagnosed with later on.
7.) Doctor were taking their time diagnosing me and I was put on stimulant laxatives continously for 4 months. In the mean time, I had Urea Breath test as well as stool parasite test but they both came back negative.
8.) Got fed up with my doctor only prescribing stimulant laxatives so I changed to a different doctor and got prescribed 40mg Nexium for 8 weeks which cured the upper abominal pain I used to get shortly after eating solid foods like biscuits. He suspected that I had Gastritis.
9.) Diagnosed with IBS-C, Redundant colon and Slow Colonic Transit after Colonoscopy. The gastroenterologist told me that my colon was unusually long, floppy and thin like that of an elderlies. And he told me there’s nothing he can do about it.

To summerise, I was diagnosed with:
- IBS-C
- Redundant colon
- Slow colonic transit
- Acid reflux/GERD
- Rectal prolapse [fixed after surgery]
As of current I’m suffering from:
- Food intolerance to milk, mayonnaise and onions
- Prone to constipation since I tend to getting smal, hard, round pellet stools due to my Slow Colonic Transit. But as long as I drink coffee, I don’t get constipated (although the stool is still hard). But if I stop drinking coffee, my stools sometimes gets stuck and takes a very long time to come out.
I used to take VSL#3 and I’m not sure if it was helping. The only place I can get VSL#3 is from epharmacy.com.au but they’ve been out of stock for a while. I could also get it from Amazon but it takes at least 4 weeks to arrive to Australia so by the time it arrives to my house, I’m afraid that the most of the bacteria would probably be dead. It's also very expensive since it costs $120 and my doctor told me that I can't give me discounts since it's not considered a medicine. So I’m currently taking Jarro-Dophilus EPS from iHerb.com.au since it's cheaper and survives in room temperature.
I feel like my gut health has never been the same ever since I’ve developed gut issues. So my question is, do you guys have any recommendatoin for medications or supplements that I can take to optimise my gut health as much as possible?
I was tested negative for Celiac disease.
Thanks.
