I was looking for other people who had a bad colonoscopy, and may have ongoing problems from the procedure. I turned 50, so the colonoscopy was advised. It has been over a year now since the colonoscopy and my bowels still are not the same. All I remember about
the procedure is feeling the scope poking me internally causing alarming pain, which I verbally expresssed. So, the doctor sedated me further, and the rest of the procedure is unclear to me. When I recovered the surgeon relayed that she could not proceed beyond the colon into the intestines, so the test was unconclusive. Later I did read my records though, and apparently I became "combative". Probably this was a good thing, or else I may be worse off. I still get flare ups of gas, bloating, and severe discomfort in my lower abdominal area. My energy is compromised lately, but particularly at these flare up times. Since the procedures my stools have never been formed again but instead between loose and soft. Last Sunday I woke up with watery stool, so am seeking further support. But I suspect IBS caused by possible scaring from the procedure. Does anyone know of anyone who had a similar experience. This appears to be unusual, but it did happen to me!! I am feeling pretty alone now.
