My stool sample had a crp level of 1009 but no bacteria etc.
Blood work was normal
Colonoscopy a couple weeks later had patchy - very mild non specific colitis in sigmoid Said 99% of my colon looked normal including rectum
But the abdominal pain is bothersome. It has been 2 months.
Everything else was macro and microscopically normal, the patholgist commented : there are lymphoid aggregates present in the biopies.

Upper endoscopy showed gastritis (possibly related??)

When it started i was going 4-5x for a fcouple weeks, mushy stool no blood. Now i go twice a day but the stool is weirdly shaped, formed but soft.

Doctor said is is IBS and just risidual inflammation. My anxiety wont let me accept this... please someone give me your input. Thank you.

Hey slappyhappy, thats for taking the time reply.

Doesnt ibs not have inflammation? I i had little patchs spaning up to the transverse, but very little. however, the only biopsy that showed any colitis was the sigmoid.there was 6 taken. I dont remember eating anything bad or getting any type of food poisoning so i dont think i had an imtestinal infection recently. Could bowl prep cause something like this visually. Or could this possibly be the begining or somethig worse

Ibs has no inflammation and no bowel prep can't. I'm on the slight end of chrons disease if ur poop sample for calprotectin shows anything then that's inflammation and IBD. Don't mix the two ibs has no inflammation that's the point of the poo sample. IBD can put itself into remission which is what I'm having trouble with now so have to repeatedly give in poo samples. Please don't listen ibs doesn't cause things like that to show up on colonoscopy ect. I was palmed off with ibs but speilaist said I have a bile problem and I'm starting to get chrons. It's been 4 years for me! But ibs doesn't cause calprotectin to be high not sure if u are on about this poo test. If not then ask for calprotectin if it's normal I'd agree on ibs if it's not then it shows inflammation along digestive tract.

Albear, inflammation does occur with IBS. If you will go to a reputable website & type IBS & CRP you can read it for yourself. There are numerous sites that discuss this. And yes, if inflammation is present when a scope is done the prep can irritate things more.

When I say to look this up on the net I am talking about places like for instance the Mayo Clinic. Look for medical institutions where you will get correct information. Cruising public forums asking for information often leads to a person getting inaccurate information. No one is a dr in these forums. Also I think you are seeing a gi dr so ask your questions to him.
