Started with IBS-D and now Constipation

Hello to all my IBS -- Co sufferers--

It's been a long while since I last posted--

Last 2 yrs- mostly in Prostate C- Forum---

OK- please, allow me to share something w all of you--& hopefully...I can get some educated & well thought out responses (I will be seeing my Gastro Dr--This Thursday )-

I am a 71 yr old- widower & have been Dx w IBS (D)--way back as a first yr school teacher--in 1972-

I have a terrific Gastro Dr --here in Philly....I have had 2 colonoscopies...& again was Dx...w IBS..D--

In the past---treated w the "Old reliable"...Librax--that worked--really well-

THEN--in Jan--2017....I had DaVinci Prostate surgery---(Removal of Prostate--all went well )
In the last 6 months--or so--been suffering since mild depression--
Along w this--- last month or so--new symptoms--
First....since surgery BMs...not as easy (Often take stool softeners...Fiber & prune juice....off & on )

Now...last 2 weeks---terrible---gas (Lots of flatulence ) & bloating along WITH---Constipation..!!!!
I am thinking...it was just my constipation- I have had--since the surgery...!
BUT---last 2 weeks...gas...bloating....Hear lottsa rumbling in abdomen !! Last week I went to the "Urgent care".....I was worried --( I DO have a touch of hypochondria !)--that----since I have an inguinal hernia....MAYBE that was the problem..(was it a "Bowel obstruction"..??? Dr--there felt & looked & said.."No !" )

THEN---I worried...it was my "Hernia"...blocking things....!! Dr---There said "No"....
Soo I sent email to my gastro---& he knows how I worry...will see him This Thursday--

HERE is my latest...POSSIBLE....cause (I'll share it w Dr )....IS this possible...??
As I said---I AM suffering from mild depression !!! AND..I have read that IBS...(NOW...C? )....CAN be triggered by...depression....!!!--My BMs.....are fine (Not loose...like when I had the IBS--D )--But...I REALLY have to "Jump thru hoops".....Just to get a decent...BM....(Stool softeners--"Collace"...100 mg )---& recently some Fiber cookies -

Sooo- my question..to all of you here....Is it possible---that my depression--has somehow Triggered a NEW IBS flare---THIS time w C....?? (I do NOT wanna take...ANY anti depressants)-

I can understand the IBS--D......as a hyperactive bowel..! BUT....NOW...this "Constipation"...!!!
AND...If so---how do Drs--treat this..?

Please....get back with...ANY feedback....! It will be appreciated !!
