Can diverticulitis cause blood in the urine?

I was diagnosed yesterday with diverticulitis. Today I have blood in the urine. Can diverticulitis have caused this?

Yes, as the previous responder said, these are two separate issues. Diverticulitis involves the intestines and bowels. Blood in the urine is a bladder problem. Your bladder is not connected to your bowels, so the blood in your urine is coming from some sort of a bladder problem. Could be minor, such as a simple infection, or it could be serious. See your doc to have it checked out.
