Best Meds for Stomach Pain

Just wondering what everyone thinks is the best meds, soley for stomach pain, that is also easy on the gut?

Can you be more specific? What kind of stomach pain? Do you mean cramps?
I found that the best thing for cramps (spasms) is a heating pad and some tea. For nausea or fullness, or just plain icky stomach from food, tea is great. Fresh mint tea is wonderful, so is ginger and peppermint tea.
I'm not on antispasmodics or prescription meds, but I do fine going the natural route. Although, for D there is nothing better than Imodium when you're in a crunch (ie. when you have plans you can't get out of).

No, its not cramps. Its more of a dull-knawing pain that's much more painful and annyoing than cramps. Cramps never have really bothered me. My pain is hard to describe, because its' not that common. The pain is constant (its there every day) and sometimes it is severe, and I have to make trips to the ER. The pain starts from the belly-button and goes up to end of the stomach (right before the rib-cage). Docs thought it might have been inflamation of the small intestine, but I took Entocort and Pentasa for a few months and didn't get any relief. So, now its back to the drawing board. Have you ever heard of anyone with similar symptoms of myslef (I have never had any other symptons, D, C, naseau, vomitting, fatigue, etc.)?

my IBS is mostly pain, rarely I have Con. Dia. The pain was like there was rock in my stomach. It just "hurt" thats the only way I could prescribe it. Mine pain was right at the top of where your sternum ends then to the left upper quadrant. I just had pain. the only thing that worked for me, was getting off all my meds.i had many scopes, ect. I hope you get some answers

Did the scope you to check for h. pylori in the stomach? I've heard that can cause pain in the stomach area (as well as ulcers).

GERD/Acid Reflux can cause pain as well. The acid eats away at your stomach lining and esophagus. Many years ago when I first presented with IBS I had what I used to call a "sore" stomach. Just below my sternum where my ribs meet is where it would be super sensitive, especially to the touch. Of course I had heartburn that accompanied my soreness. I got scoped and was diagnosed with acid reflux. The only way to fix it is to take Prevacid, Prilosec, Nexium, or the like. Prevacid did wonders for me.

I mean, I took every test in the book, literally; I would think (and hope) that the docs would have found out if it was acid eating away at my stomach that was causing the pain? I mean I know doctors could make mistakes, but they have been treating me for abot 12 months now - Anyways, I will it mention it to them on the next visit - but I think they are convinced that I have IBS - as apparantly IBS is one of those diseases that doesn't show up on all the tests they give.
Currently I'm on anti-depressents (even though I'm not depressed at all) and SSRI's (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) as apparantty these 2 meds seem to work for people with IBS and stomah pain.

Any other ideas' out there?
