Noticed something new in stools

Hey guys yea im back with another question.

Well i had many bowl movements today but they will all relatively thin and long, or thin and small, or just small but all were in the U shape. I also noticed bubbles coming up from some of my bowl movements and also particles like greenish stuff floating up. There was also what looked like oil kind off for example gasoline in water....just wanted to prove a point that u see there is something else there....sorry if its a bad example.

Do any of you know what this is?? Can it be malabsorbtion?? I had blood tests done and they all came out good.

Thin, "pencil" poo is very common with IBS. If you have constipation issues, it may signal a blockage, but if you're not constipated, well, it's unfortunately just par for the course.

A lot of people with diarrhea-dominant IBS poop undigested pieces of food. Did you eat anything in the past day or two which could have given you green stuff in your stools (peas, green beans, lettuces or spinaches, colored drinks)? Was it solely liquid, or were there also food particles? Bile can sometimes show up as green, but it is only a liquid.

If they checked your vitamin levels when they did your blood work (not a given--make sure), and you were within normal range on everything, then you're not having a malabsorption problem. All of your symptoms are right in line with just plain old, untreatable, who-know-why-it-happens, IBS.

Humm well i have felt constipated since may after the whole throwing up episode 7 times. I dont know why i keep on going back to it probably because after that my symptoms of ibs started. Thing is my stools are always different but usually thin but i always shall we say poop everyday. The thing that i find wierd is that when i wipe its basically all watery.

So with ibs does it always feel like everything building up on the left side of the abdomen and when you touch it ....it hurts as well as the right side of the abdomen because that is my case.

As for eating anything green nope i didnt eat any green particles at all. It was plain rice and chicken. And i have not experienced diarrea.

Apparantly they checked for everything and everything came out good in the blood tests. But the GI also said that sometimes blood test doesnt pick up on certain things when its there that is why i was asking. These Gi really knows how to get me nervous.

But you know thinking back last year i had my toncils in january was on anti-biotics zitromax for a week then the throwing up incident in may and here i am today out of my mind...lol.."wonderful"

Have you tried the probiotics yet? I can't imagine anything else, I mean other than a bacterial problem, that would give you green poop when you have eaten nothing but chicken, rice and drank water. If it was bile, you'd have a problem with diarrhea.

Sounds like it could be some mucous/bile.

pb4 i have noticed a white like coating over my last bowl movement so guessing this is mucous like you said. The last bowl movement was very brown. As for the bile hummm i dont know as Keriamon stated that id have a problem with diarrea and i havnt experienced that at all through the course of this horrid nightmare only experienced diarrea once when i had to give in a stool sample and the nurse told me to eat a lot of chicken and prunes so i drank a whole bottle of prunce juice and 3 hours later bammmm.

Keriamon i havnt tried the probiotics yet ill get on them after i finish my anti-biotics of flagyl. But i did start having activa yogurt yesterday and will continue that as you said that probiotics is like fiber so gonna take it nice and slow and work my way up.

Hope your not getting annoyed with my questions i know sometimes they dont make sense but what im going through doesnt make sense especially when doctors tell you we cant find anything physically wrong with you. And plus im young im a 23 year old male so at one point they started houding me about drug use. Its like buddy i never touched anything like that.

Oh i read about these chewable tablets that some people have used it is for the use of ibs im willing to give that a try as well. I read about them on this forum the reviews on what some people have taken. Do they sell that in canada .... yep another dumb question.

I don't know if they sell Digestive Advantage (I think that's the probiotic you're referring to) in Canada, or, if they do, if it goes by some other name. But you can buy them online, in chewable or swallowable form. Just think, drugs going from the US to Canada, instead of the other way around! Lol.

I was 18 when my gall bladder started acting up, so I got to go through all that pain, diarrhea, etc. the whole time I was in college. It was miserable, I'll tell you. I was 23 before they took it out, and I've been better ever since. Hopefully you'll find something to help you get better too.

as a side note,

i've found the blood tests to be very poor in picking up malabsorbtion. having had a few done while experiencing flare ups of coeliacs disease and they've picked up nothing, and I personally found the malabsorbtion to be very bad at this point as i had steatorrea, v. low energy levels adn was even devloping white scaly patches of skin due to a lack of zinc! yet the test showed nothing wrong!

Thanks for the information. So what signs should i be looking for to pinpoint that i do indeed have malabsorbtion. Because i have lost over 18 pounds in 8 months. The Gi did tell me that sometimes its not detectable. Should i ask for a stool test?? I was experiencing big bulkly small stools before. They were fat. Also when i look at my stools being formed i noticed that is all messed up together. Like small little stools stuck onto other stools. I do feel tired exhausted actually. And when i eat it does feel like nothing is going in the right place. And after a meal i usually have a bowl movement and the stools are different. Its always changing.

So what are the signs of mal absorption ?? Or how did they find out about mal absorption with you?? Or does anyone know what tests actually do detect mal absorption.

Here's the ingredients for Digestive Advantage (or Digestive DISadvantage)....

Erythritol, Lactobacillus Cultures, Lysine, Plasdone, Stearic Acid, Natural & Artificial Flavor, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Malic Acid, Magnesium Stearate, Silicon Dioxide, Sucralose.

It also has casein in it which is a milk protein that many have allergic reactions to, and may not even be aware of the allergy.

Here's the ingredients for primadophilus rueteri....

Other ingredients: Potato starch, Plant-derived capsule, Aqueous enteric-coating, Magnesium stearate, Ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
