Finished my treatment of Flagly

Well before Flagly i was getting a bowl movement and gas after anything and everything and urinating after 2 sips of water. And my urination was very little and i had the urge to go and when i did go it would take a long time to come out. Now i still urinate a lot and i can keep it in longer and more comes out. Since im indian i have this tea that is very spicy. Before Flagly i use to drink it and i use to have 2 bowl movements right after. And i use to feel the spices go down my left side of abdomen very bizarre feeling. Now i drank it and i was safe. I just had a piece of pizza home made with brocolli and massive cheese and so far so good but before i wouldve gotten bloated and had another bowl movement.

One thing that hasnt changed is the bubbles i feel near the rectum area. And sometimes i will just let gas out and there is no odor. And at times i feel like i just had diarrea in my pants but when i go to the bathroom to check its just wet. Also after my bowl movements when i wipe its all watery on the toilette paper. But in the stool i look closely and trust me no diarrea. I have not had any diarrea at all except for one time when i drank a whole bottle of prune juice and it was big and then 2 hours later yea u know wut happened..lol

Also my stools there is one somewhat normal looking stool following by other small ones. But this small ones come later like after 5 minutes followed by a wierd smell but not very very bad. And also i had some stools floating up. I also have had  little bits of stools floating up like really small pieces and small bubbles coming up and then disappearing. Also at times when i flush the stools just break up into dust. And i am officially 100 pounds. So now in 9 months i lost 20 pounds. But i do avoid eating because of work and school.

I also feel the bubbles in the rectum area and noise even when i drink water. I felt something new that i havnt felt in 9 months. I had 2 hot dogs from a fast food joint because i ask testing if i can go back to normal. I ate it all was good. But i just had ketchup on it. Then after 30 min i felt something in the middle of my abs not too far from my bellybutton. I was like something was pushing like a heartbeat and i was at work so i couldnt of been nervous or anything as i was waiting for a call to pop up on my computer and doing a soduku.

So that is my experience so far i got another appointment in 2 weeks with the GI.

Thank you so much for replying. I swear you guys are saving my life as i took advice for you guys to seek another Gi specialist and i did exactly that and he is running new tests compared to the other prick who was hinting that it was all in my head.

Well 7lil i dont know what it is but every doctor i see wheater it be in the ER room or walk in clinic they run blood tests and tell me im fine. I keep on telling them i woke up one day feeling sumthing funny in my stomach then the mucus started then i saw a pinch of red stuff in the bowl but nothing on the toilette paper then the bloating started then the gas couple of months went by everything was fine and then i threw up 8 times and that is when i started having my symptoms after that. They just tell me its life things happen and it might be ibs and i ask them questions and they just shrug me off. I dont know if its because im young cuz i am a 23 year old male or if its because they dont like my face. This one nurse i told her and she cracked up and said "oh my ibs". But at that time they ran no tests and i learnt on this site that ibs is given after tests have been conducted thank god for this site !! My sister told me the same they have to run tests to comfirm.

So i been to two Gi specialists and get this one turns out to be 55 who says wow your blood tests are better than mine and tells me to add fiber to ur diet. I asked him can i ask u a couple of questions he goes sure and as im talking he picks up his phone and started talking about another patient...wut an ass and after the appointment he showed me the door and said if you wanna book another appointment u can and the next one was in 3 months...screw that. This new GI specialist is out of med school im guessing because he had to go ask his boss if he could give me Flagly. So no apart from learning about probiotics on this site doctors have not told me about them. But thank god you guys did and Activa yogurt. I been having some activa yogurt and then ill start on the probiotics. The new Gi specialist thinks it might be malabsorption. But he is just amazed that i have no diarrea at all. Ill ask him to do a stool test to test for fat as i read this is a way to pick up on malabsorption as i lost 20 pounds since may 1 2006. But he did say that there is no point in testing for parasites because most of the time they are there and they dont pick it up so just easier to give meds and see if it works. He also said that most tests dont pick up on mal absorbtion.

But i got a question for you guys. How long after a meal till you have a bowel movement. Like 2 hours to 4 hours....6 hours ??

And i remember Keriamon telling me about probiotics which ones to get but i lost the paper i wrote it on so anyone got any suggestions ??

I also wanted to let you know that it is completely normal to have bowel movements after you eat.  Eating stimulates what's called the "gastrocolonic reflex;" basically, eating stimulates your gut into activity.  It's not as though what you just ate is coming out within minutes - that is a physiological impossibility!  It takes several hours for your food to digest.  If you eat a bunch of broccoli at night, for instance, you might see some greenies in the toilet in the morning! 

Flagyl is a hardcore antimicrobial.  It's not going to be a picnic taking it by any means.  But if it is a parasitic or bacterial infection, it will most likely do the trick, sometimes after a few tries.
