Allergy Test for IBS???

I'm wary about a treatment center that does not post a physician's credentials. Looks like the Seattle center is run by a naturopath, which is fine, except that he does not state that on the website, and that strikes me as somewhat deceitful. A naturopathic physician (N.D.) has a lot of training, and can prescribe some supplements and medications, but is not licensed to practice the full scope of medicine. There is a very well-known naturopathic medical school in Seattle, though; if I were you I'd just do more research and not jump into anything, given your financial situation.

As far as food allergies...there are skin tests and blood tests that your doc can run. I had some done back in the day and was told I was "sensitive" to some odd things like zucchini and green onions or something like that. I don't even remember, but I do remember staying away from those foods to see what would happen...and found no change in my symptoms. Other people get "food allergy testing" done and stay away from whatever their "sensitive" foods are and swear by that. So...like always, it varies from person to person.

Thanks so much for your reply. I was really not sure about it. I question anything that doesnt deal with your insurance. I realize it is just a matter of finding what helps you. I just got really scared when my liver enzymes were bad,afraid it was too much medicine. If tylonol affects your liver then what about all of the other. Since I have never had allergy test done it cant hurt to see if that will help. At least I got another idea from the Seattle IBS center. Thats all Im doing anyway is just trying to get suggestions so that I can try to improve my quality of life. I always run it by my family Dr. first, even if specialist suggest something. I know and trust my family Dr. Sorry to hear you are out of work gutastrophe. Seattle use to have a good state insurance when you were out if work. That was years ago, do they still have that.
