Tootiebug,
Just wanted to respond that I have had arrhythmia for years. When I was in my 20's, they dx me with MVP and colitis. Recently, an ultrasound indicated I do not have MVP and I am more convinced than ever that the skipped beats are related to stress, just as the IBS symptoms are.
If you read my post about "miracles", I recently worked an extremely stressful weekend job that got the arrhythmia kicking and screaming AGAIN. I finally got them under control in the last two months with medication but the stress and adrenalin of the work kick started them. And needless to say, the IBS symptoms were pretty nasty as well.
The connection, according to my doc, is the stress and especially the adrenalin. Most folks who have heart palps get so anxious that the adrenalin rush of the stress just activates and perpetuates even more palps. It's something of a vicious cycle and even though I can control the symptoms of arrhythmia with meds, it's really just the relaxation factor that puts them into remission. Either way, they are not going to kill me so it's best to stop worrying.
Gut, I loved your post so much that I just had to link it here. Lil
