Hi,
I just started Amitiza two weeks ago and it worked for about 4 days, then it stopped working. I'm still on Topamax for anxiety (reason was because it seemed to help calm my nerves when I had no medication available for my IBS-C) but now that Amitiza is available, I wonder if I need the Topamax anymore. I see that constipation is a big side effect of it too - has anyone else out there had to take both, and if so, have they experienced this side effect?

I have only tried the Topamax and have been on it for over a year now. I am on 200mg a day. The only side affect I have noticed is weight loss. Which has been a plus for me! Sorry I can't help with the other.

I am on Amitiza--although I am not on Topamax. I have noticed that some days the Amitiza seems to work better than other days. If I need to I add milk of magensia--and that really helps.

Hello, first time using this type of forum. 

I have been on Amitiza a couple days, was wondering if I can take prilosec with it?

I have been On Topamax for a year and a half..and have had more constipation this past while since being on it. Unfortnately I take it for seizures in my temporal lobe so it is not something i need to come off. I am trying to control the constipation by other means now but it did cause me to become impacted and prolapse, unfortunately...and i was not even aware of it ocurring it happened so stealthily.:(

I do not take Amitzia so do not know side effects of that...best to ask a pharmacist as they are up on those side effects...good luck to you!
