Hello all. I am new to this forum and have never joined a group such as this before, however I have recently started to experience pain that, to this point, is unexplainable. To begin, I'm male, 35, and I've been to a GI and had a colonoscopy done. My doctor stated that I had a Grade 2 internal hemorrhoid, however my symptoms don't line up with the information I've read concerning internal hemorrhoids. Specifically, I'm experiencing sharp cyclical pain daily that begins with the onset of a bowel movement and progresses to a pain peak about 4 hours later. During this time I feel light headed and nautious (when the pain is at its peak intensity). The only way I can describe it is that it feels like a pinecone is crowning in my rectum. I am also unable to pass gas and/or have a bowel movement once this cycle starts (usually my bowel movement is cut short because of the pain involved, and I do not strain in an attempt to finish the movement). It is as if my rectum has been traumatized and shuts down as if in defense of the pain. One thing I have read that sounds similar to what I am going through is proctalgia fugax, however my symptoms do not occur at night and the episodes are not brief. Instead, they are ALWAYS brought on by my daily bowel movement and as I mentioned earlier the pain intensifies X2 then regresses X1, then progresses X2 again, over and over, until it peaks and then slowly subsides in the same way until my anus finally relaxes again. I cannot find a comfortable position (other than sitting in a warm bath) and advil/tylenol don't touch the pain. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone had an experience with something like this. I'm a father and the primary earner, however this has impacted my ability to work in the office and I'm no closer to finding a solution than I was 1 month ago when my colonoscopy was performed. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
