I finally had my blood drawn today for the food sensitivity panel testing. I decided to go to the same ENT/Allergist my daughter went to a few years ago. This testing will reveal a lot of info (I'm hoping!). But I have to wait 3 weeks! Ugh........in my daughter's case we had the rotation diet formulated for her specific sensitivities but it was still difficult to follow (she was in high school at the time). Our insurance didn't pay for the testing so her doctor accepted a flat rate. I asked for the same blood test but I'm skipping the rotation diet booklet (since I know many of the foods on it would give me D).
So wish me luck everyone. At the very least I'm guessing it will tell me I am sensitive to dairy and gluten.
I was about to begin my own elimination diet but a good friend of mine said not to play around with all these foods groups if I could afford the testing.
My copay was $60, the testing will cost me $89.
I think that's reasonable. I am also hoping they'll send the results to my doctor sooner since I didn't request the rotation diet booklet.
Has anyone here gone thru this food sensitivity panel testing? If so, did you find it helpful and did it provide you with useful info?
At the very least it can't hurt me to at least find out if certain food groups are irritating to my gut.
