Hey friends, I have been taking Align for almost a month and from my understanding if it was going to work, I would be seeing results by now.  I have about five days left and I have not once had consistent results from it.  If anything, I'm constipated more often than not if I am eating a reasonable diet.  The only way I can get myself to go is by eating a fairly large (often bad for me) lunch and then I go after that.  I'm thinking Align has failed me, but I would like imput.  It is supposed to be this wonderful relatively new Probiotic.  I have taken probiotics before, usually with the result of going alot more than normal.  Oddly, this one seemed to do the opposite.  Considering constipation is one of my chief concerns, I am very disappointed.  I know some people have mentioned that it may take two months to see the full affects of a probiotic, but I would think my symptoms should have improved some.  Does anyone have any advice on this?

I can relate. I have relentless IBS-D and have spent months on Align, no help. Then Culturelle, no help. Then VSL#3, no help. Probiotics do not solve my issues.

Thanks for replying...I think I agree.  I'm trying to decide whether to try prebiotics.  Huh...such hard decisions.

I can tell you my experience with Align. I have had IBS-D for 27 years.  I tried Align, completing 2 weeks of it.  Within 12 days, I had (keeping record) 27 spells with my stomach.  I told myself, although I had IBS-D really bad; that maybe it will take awhile to help.  I was wrong and got discouraged one night. I emailed the company and told them what had happened while taking their product.  They were shocked that it did that to me and suggested that I stop taking Align and save any other remaining pills.  They sent my problem to the Health and Safety Department.  Of course, this might not happen to eeryone; but that is what I experienced. I am now taking Caltrate for Bone and Colon Heath. 600+D plus with minerals, calcium supplement. I don't want to jinx myself, but I have improved some. Thanks to the person that had suggested it to me.

Yes, I gave Align 2 months to work.  Unfortunately it didn't help so I am on to try new things.  With these problems it is all trial and error!  But hang in there... if one thing doesn't work, try something else- eventually something will help! :)

The Caltrate helps me too - formed stools etc. I am on a system of an iron supplement daily, 4 caltrates daily, and it all seems to have helped a lot. I also take an Imodium now and then every several days. All the $$ spent on probiotics before seems to have been misspent.
