Hey everyone I have a major sweet tooth but I cant feed my cravings for sweets like I'd want cause of IBS.I looove chocolate but know chocolate is bad for me if I do not over do it.Are there dairy free,egg free,brownies and cookies out there? cause I would love to eat those treats with no problems please anyone get back to me if you know of any good products that taste good key word taste good!!!! thanks guys. :-)

Health food stores offer a lot now. You can buy a dry powder mix that is an egg replacer. I used this product when my daughter was going thru a rotation diet for 2 or 4 weeks (she had the food sensitivity testing done as I did in June). Spend some time in a health food store. Read labels carefully. You may discover you can buy a lot of either prepared products or ones you can make from scratch w/o dairy, eggs, etc.

It takes diligence but it can be done.

Contrary to a somewhat common misconception, eggs are not considered a dairy product, which refers to the product of the mammary glands of mammals such as cows, goats, sheep and others, and the products derived thereof. The misconception that eggs are dairy products is often a result of a confusion between the terms dairy product and animal byproduct. While eggs are, indeed, produced by animals and, therefore, an animal byproduct, they are not a dairy product or a derivative of dairy products.

My local Wal-mart has a special section for restricted diets. I've also seen these products in other grocery stores like Giant Eagle, Wegmans, and Whole Foods.

pb4 - good points. A lot of people think of eggs as dairy, as I used to. My daughter had to eliminate eggs from her rotation diet so we had to use an egg replacer. After a while I kept that box on hand if I was ever out of eggs - it came in handy when preparing mixes and such that called for eggs.

Didn't know about applesauce though. That's a good tip to know. And easy on the gut too!

I watched a very good episode of Chef’s Kitchen that featured Traci Anello, from Anello's Gluten Free Cafe in Portsmouth NH.  Supposedly you can order mixes for everything under the sun and although all are gluten free she said “Just ask to make your mixes dairy-free and we will do that too!”  She showed off lots of delectable goodies on the show. This may be an expensive option, and I couldn’t really find how to order off the web, though she said you could. Anyway if you can find the episode and watch it on the web it is very good. Her shop really fills the needs of some overlooked diet needs. And as I said the food looked awesome and the the show host said “you’d never know by eating it that it was free of this or that”. Again, this may be a very expensive option, I don't know. But may be worth it for some.
