rl1 - I am with you on this one. I too have had sharp lower abdomin pain with left testicle pain. I still have my varicoseal as it has been with me all of my life and normally had only flared up a few times a year. This all started about 5 months ago and seems to be changing daily. I get lower sharp pain in my left(& sometimes right - stereo) side due to extreme boiling in my GI. It now radiates down to my testicle, both at sometimes, and now shooting pain travels down the back of my left leg. Each day is a challenge to see what it will bring. Changing my diet doesn't seem to help. Have been to a Gastro and had both upper and lower scopes. Nothing major found. Also a urologist - scopes and tests done, nothing found. Running out of co-pay money. As you mention, it is affecting my work and family life greatly, not to mention no sex. I am at the point now where I can't even sit at work or at home and have to kneel due to the leg pain. I also get lower back pain sometimes. I have also been seeing a Chiro with minimal results. Thinking of accupuncture - will try anything at this point. So, where does that leave you, you ask? Good question as I ask it everyday. Depression due to the continual pain does get overwhelming at times. Sometimes while driving home I think of just taking a sharp right just to get some relief or rest from the pain, if you know what I mean. I am on Prilosec at the moment. I have been on lots of other things from Nexium, Bentyl, Murilax to Vicodin(their answer to my pain which I have only taken 2-3 times due to the nature of the beast.) My only suggestions at this point for what you might try - Murilax if constipatde to keep you reg. If like me, when I get backed up, the pain increases. To calm the stomach or GI tract, I have found, by someones' suggestion, fennel seeds and ginger ale. I tried the teas and they don't seem to work for me. If you like licorice, chewing on a half teaspoon or less of fennel seeds probably won't bother you. Most people I have experimented them on hate the taste. I am "tolerating" them because they seem to help. They are not a cure, but the only thing I have found to-date that can help me get through the pain and calm my GI. Hope this helps. I too am new to this board after reading your post. Anyone else reading this that may have help - PLEASE HELP! ANYTHING! SOS!
