I am a 28 year old female who has had IBS since I was 18. It was miserable throughout college, happening generally right after I ate. I tried change of diet, etc. but the symptoms only really improved when I started taking antidepressants (less stress, less IBS). It would only really affect me before my period. For the past month though, it has come back with a vengeance and the symptoms have changed. Now I am waking up almost every night with nausea that results in diarrhea, usually the very watery kind. Last night, I ended up vomiting as well. I am doing nothing differently, eating the same things, taking my meds. I have had a little extra stress in my life but my symptoms seem a little extreme for that. I've read that the pain from abdominal cramps can cause nausea and vomiting, but my cramps aren't that severe. I fully intend to see a doctor about all of this, but as I am on vacation all week and we all know how many specialists and tests I will end up having to see I was hoping to hear from anyone who has been experiencing similar symptoms, as I am now pretty scared.
Thanks for any words of comfort!
