help with constipation

my husband does not have ibs but i figured you may be able to help. for almost two weeks he has been constipated and he has tried dulcolax and a enema and neither have worked. it started out with diarrhea at first(the first two days) but now it is now just constipation. he has been to the dr for other issues(he has no voice) and they have him on a steroid for swollen nose on inside, amoxicillen, and a cough medicine but the constipation was before all the meds. he told the dr about it but they seemed to ignore it. is there anything he can do. he may go to the er this weekend. oh did i mention he has been having stomach cramps too. it starts after he eats any food.
