HI
I have just been diagnoised with IBS, I have had alot of food allergies,and I have ciliac,and Ic. So my diet already is very limited.

But this Ibs has been a rude of wakening. I have never experienced such pain in my life. from diareaha to low back pain,to right side

pain to constipation. I have read and re-read letters from Ibs people. My heart breaks and I totally understand. Two different doctors have told me it's Ibs,

I thought I was dying. They just put me on dexilant,I don't know if it helps yet. Does anyone know about this drug? I am afraid to eat at all,and then


I feel weak. I hope there will be and end to all of this soon.

Welcome Auntbetty,

How were you food allergies diagnosed and the celiac? How long ago?

Were either of the doctors gi's that diagnosed IBS?

Have you had a colonoscopy?

dexilant is a heartburn medication and not sure why they put you on that unless for some reason they thought they needed to reduce stomach acid, whch might be although I am not sure related to the celiac.

There are measures a person can take to try to alleviate IBS symptoms.

Yes! both were GI's. That medicine i talked about was new

heratburn medicine.But he did give me hyoscyamine i have

never had this before, I have been in so much pain,And it

was hard,because I am already gluten free,dairy free.

and soy free , Not alot of food left.Now I am on a low fat diet.

I had a colonospy 2 years ago. And I am getting some blood

work done in a couple of day's. The doc told me 3 years ago

to stop wheat,and gluten,and see if my pains in my stomach

stop. And they did.And My dairy allergery ,I have had for at least 10 years. I also had an endoscopy last year, But let

me know about this new medicine,if you can,

hyoscyamine has been around for quite a while now and is an antispasmatic. It has been shown to help some people.

Did they diagnose celiac with blood work? The gold standard to diagnose it is with a biopsy.

I had an endoscopy about three years ago. I for sure have celiac. Thanks for getting back to me about the meds.We'll see what happens!
