Hi Shawn,
I was a little busy last days. I have read that article. I can agree with that information. Interesting news: our gastrology professor said to us that yes - my wife has SIBO (he never said that before but he is kind of doctor that don't talk to mutch). He said also that there is no need to make HBT because this is SIBO for sure. As next drug, after xifaxan he gave her neomycin because there is no big improvement after xifaxan.
My wife started also to use nutrica nutridrink to be stronger (she los few kg of weight last weeks).
Before we start to use neomcin we want to use proper diet.
I have two books in front of me - IBS Solution by M.Pimentel and Breaking the Vicious Cycle by E.Gottshall. And we have problem because that books are talking different things. For example in M.Pimentel solution you can eat potatoes, rice, white bread and in E.Gottshall solution not.
Both Pimentel and Gottshal are talking about bacterial overgrowth as a purpose of my wife problems. Both are talking about not using hard-to-digest sugars. But why they give a different diets. Not all is different but my wife is using some products that Pimentel alows and Gottshall not (potatoes, rice, white bread).
So we are a little bit confused :( But we are trying to read that books again and understand :)
