I've been having stomach problem's for the last two or three years. I went to the doctor and he told me i had IBS. Which too me doesn't make any sense? Every now and then I'll have blood in my stool and from what i have gathered, that's not normal for ibs. Sometimes there is so much blood it make's me weak. Also it hurts really, really bad when i have a bowel movement. The lower part of my stomach cramps up and my anus hurts like CRAZY. It feels like i have been pooping knifes, that's really the only way i know how to explain it. Is this normal with IBS or could it be something else. I have been too four different doctors and six different hospital! They all tell me something different.

This sounds like you might have hemmies and IBS.

Blood in the stool is a red flag for an IBS diagnoses and they need to find out why your bleeding, but if its bright red it is usually from something less serious, although all bleeding should be checked out by a doctor.

rectal hypersensitivity is also common in IBS. Pain or discomfort is a must for an IBS diagnoses.

what are all the different things they are telling you? Were any gi doctors? Have you had blood work and stool tests and perhaps a colonoscopy?

When I had anal fissures it felt like I was passing broken glass or knives. If you are having constipation problems, very large or hard stools can rip the tissue in the anal canal. This causes bleeding and lots of pain. Has anyone examined the anal canal for fissures?
