I have been suffering from what I thought was IBS. I had gone in to my doctors office and seen the CNP and he told me I was suffering from IBS and to watch what I ate and try not to stress out and so on. I continued to have these episodes of abdonminal pain, constipation, bloating, anxiety, diareha, vomitting etc. I got to the point where I knew something else was wrong. When I went in to see my actual doctor he basically told me IBS is a way out for doctors. They say IBS when they are not 100% on anything else. He said he needed to run bloodwork on me for several thing, perform an abdominal sonogram, get a urine sample etc. After I completed all of the test I was called back in a week later and was finally given proper diagnosis. He told me everything looked great except one thing. The bloodwork showed that I had really high levels of a certain antibody that is from proteins (gluten). It turned out that I have Celiacs Sprue, which is my intestines were being poisned from eating things that contain gluten. I am currently on a gluten free diet and I already feel so much better and even better I have not had any attacks. Those of you that have IBS please check with your doctor or another doctor and ask them to test for Celiacs. I know how painful this can get. If you need more information I would be happy to give it to you. Best of luck.
