what helps with your nausea?

I suffer really badly with nausea and it can sometimes go on for days.  I take domperidone and occasionally Omeprazole but sometimes nothing seems to help it.

Just wondered if anyone has any tips or advice on what you all take?  I have heard that some anti histimines help with nausea but have never tried this.

For the last three days I have felt nauseous and I took 2 - 200mg ginger tablets and they helped.  Once they wore off I took a couple more.  Peppermint oil capsules are also excellent or nausea.

I have never tried anti histimines.

Doctor gave me zomed---doesn't help so much---have you ever been so nauseated for 6 days you couldn't eat---I have no appetite for 6 days----really scares me----I have a HIBA scan tomorrow to check gallbladder----abdominal ultrasound was normal----

I have flare-ups of nausea.  I have prescription Zofran, and it works for me.  I have gastroparesis that involves stomach burning, belching, and nausea with dry heaves.  Zofran doesn't help everyone, but it works for me.  They give this to cancer patients who are nauseated from chemo.  Ginger also helps.  I bought some at a health food store.

I feel for you Tori, there is no worse feeling than being constantly nauseated, I've been there and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

I was given Phenegren after my surgery, and it worked great, but the problem is it knocked me out, so no good for everyday life. I have tried Emetrol and it works but it's not long term.

RE: antihistamines, I have to wonder if it would help with nausea that is unrelated to an inner ear problem? I have seasonal allergies and often have fluid in my ears which makes me dizzy and rather nauseous. I have to regularly take an antihistamine called Claritin, I never really thought about it, but maybe it does help nausea, it's also a non-drowsy formula. Benedryl works much better, but if I take it during the day, it's lights out for me.

Rufous - I read somewhere about antihistmines being a good anti emetic but as you say, they might work better for inner ear problems rather than GI.

I find it so frustrating when it goes on for days and it's a struggle trying to go to work with it.

I have had severe nausea for 8 days straight---cannot eat-----literally---I am s afraid because I feel so badly---having all the tests----please just write and let me know if you have ever felt this way---am so sorry to keep complaining----have tried everything-----having CT tomorrow--
