Interested in how others handle social commitments, in relation to their ongoing bathroom needs.
My current dilemma?
Friends of mine from high school days are meeting for a meal and drinks, then going to a holiday concert at our old school. Sounds like fun doesn't it? The only problem is if I eat I won't be able to enjoy the concert.
I am tempted to just eat and then say goodnight to everyone.
That way I won't be the main discussion at the dinner table (I will be if I don't eat anything).
I have become such a homebody as I get older, because of all this. Sigh....
How do you handle meals before an event such as a play or auditorium, where you are possibly stuck in the middle of a long row of seats, with a rumbling gut, needing a bathroom. Trouble is too, I not only will need a bathroom, not once but probably half dozen times (if I eat a meal).
I wish people would just not even glance at me when I say - nothing for me. But they'll probably want to discuss why I live this way. Sometimes I have infinite patience but lately I just say - turns out losing a good chunk of your colon greatly impacts your life!!! Then I laugh. Because well, it's better than having a mini pity party. I do cry later though.
Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.
I wish this concert didn't follow the meal, but the other way around. Dang.
