IBS...Are these results consistent with diagnoses?

Just a little background, I suffer from chronic diarrhea sometimes with blood in it. I went to see the surgeon who performed a colonoscopy and gastroscopy. In the gastroscopy he found inflammation in the duodenum.

I got my results back but need some help interpreting. The surgeon says I have ibs, so let me know if this sounds consistent with that.

Small bowel: histologically unremarkable.
No diagnostic abnormalities recognized.
Rectal Mucosa: Composed of normal appearing glandular cells surrounded by normal quantities of inflammatory cells (What does this mean?)

Esophagus healthy throughout. Gastric mucosa unremarkable, antral biopsies taken for H Pylori (No h pylori, gastric mucosa within normal range).

Mild duodenitis with evidence of small punctuate ulcers on background of low grade inflammatory change, no focal pathologies seen. Findings confirmed on withdrawing scope.

Colonoscopy, rectum and colon normal throughout.

He was hoping for H Pylori though there was none and says it is ibs. Why then is the duodenum inflamed and blood in stool?

Any help interpreting the results is greatly appreciated! Is this consistent with ibs?

No, he didn't take a biopsy of the duodenum, just the stomach to make sure H pylori wasn't causing the inflamation, and that came up negative. He also never addressed the inflamation or ulcers, so I assume I just leave it and it will heal itself? He never really explained much just said ibs is causing diarrhea and that was it.
