I've suffered IBS attacks on and off over the years and have had all the usual symptoms. Any pain I get is usually around the stomach area, but over the past couple of days I've had pain elsewhere, about 3 inches down from my belly button and off to the left. It's a strange pain that comes and goes and feels almost spasm like. I can go hours without any pain or discomfort at all then suddenly it just starts and can last for quite a while before it gradually starts to ease off a bit.
Yesterday, the pain kicked off and was really uncomfortable. I was just on my way outside to go to the local shop which is basically a 2 minute walk from my house, and by the time I got to the shop the pain had virtually gone away. This made me wonder if it was just a muscle pain as I don't really have any other IBS symptoms apart from the fact I think I may be slightly constipated. I have to admit my diet recently has been poor and I'm wondering if this may be the cause of IBS potentially returning?
Anyway I was just wondering - is pain in the area I'm describing typical of IBS? I don't want to bother my doctor with this if it's just another IBS attack because I suffer from Health Anxiety and I'm at my doctor enough as it is! But anytime I get any pain or anything because of my Health Anxiety I tend to panic and blow everything out of all proportion.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
