Hi, My first post here, and I'm sorry its such a long winded one.
I have Fibromyalgia which I've had for 15 years. I've had IBS since the begining of then, but in the past it was always constipation primarily that was the problem.
A few years back I developped gallstones and fought not to have an op for over 2 years (ate sod all fat etc. etc.). Had to give in eventually, and for the first few months after that all was good.
Then my IBS which had seemingly vanished with the gallbladder being removed came back. Worse than ever, and this time diarrhoea is the problem.
Over the last few years it's got steadily worse, and I'm now virtually tied to the house from the combination of this and the FMS. It's destroying my life and I'm so tired and stressed and miserable I no longer know what to do with myself. I'm actually going to the loo anywhere from half a dozen to 2 dozen times a day which is crazy and always imediately after eating - sometimes I don't even make it through a few mouthfuls before I have to dash.
The stomach cramps can be so bad I'm crying with it at times, and although loperamide (prescribed) helps temporarily it is only very temporary and then I get plugged briefly and then straight back to the d problem. Buscopan (over the counter) was suggested by a friend, and thats helpped the last few days with the cramping which has been a relief, but I need a proper solution and I'm seriously hoping that someone here can suggest some ideas to me to try.
Thanks for wading through this lot and looking forward to hearing your suggestions
