I know I should call my surgeon and ask but I thought I would ask here first. I had the colectomy (yay!!) and everything was going great right after surgery. At first I was going like 10 times a day very easily (due to the liquid diet) but since I've added food into the equation I've slowed down a bit, which is fine, but now I feel I'm really having to strain which makes me think something is going on. I've just discovered this morning that sometimes my torso feel bruised which I can only think to blame gas or poop that hasn't come out yet. I know everyones body is different but does anyone have any tips or know foods that I should or definitely should not be eating? I'm not at all on a restricted diet, my surgeon just tells me to listen to my body. I'm definitely listening but I have no idea what's causing this. Tips please :)
