POST COLONOSCOPY PAIN

Four days after procedure and pain is not going away. Pain in lower abdomen and rectum when passing wind. Hysterectomy two months before colonoscopy procedure. The lower abdomen pain according to Dr. is probably his doing.....Surgical sight has been aggravated. No kidding!
He says that when withdrawing scope he had to administer more sedation as I was in obvious discomfort. I remember clutching my abdomen at one point in serious pain. I was not aware of any other part of the procedure. Woke in recovery with pain, lots of gas.
Sitting, walking, bowel movements all uncomfortable. His phone instructions are to see him in four days if still in pain. Extra strength acetaminophen every four hours is keeping me sane.
Note written by Dr. After procedure said two polyps removed, and to have another colonoscopy in three years. That suggests to me that the colon is healthy.
Is there anyone out there who has experienced any of this or who can suggest what might have transpired?

Thanks Sheri, IBS is something I am aware of through the experiences of 3 lovely lady inlaws. Periodic episodes often brought on by external stressors.
I am 73 and have kept my health apart from recent events. Only prescribed meds are HRT. Have been on them for many years with great results. My oncologist supports natural HRT saying that benefits far outweigh any negative effects. My G.P. doesn't agree but writes my prescriptions anyway.
Both surgery and colonoscopy have had medically induced complications. Also had a serious gut reaction to one oral antibiotic misprescribed.
After that experience and after colonoscopy prep the gut is fed once a day a probiotic with 10 strains of micro flora. It will take a week or two to get it fully loaded with healthy bacteria and I will know when I am full of energy
again and feeling great that things are back to normal in the G.I. tract.
