Hi Marcia - thought I'd start our own VSL #3 topic. Instead of borrowing other topics, which after a while doesn't seem polite. Anyway, I ordered VSL #3 from my local pharmacy, the young tech and the pharmacist shared a few looks as he was processing the product or purchase in their computer system, glancing at me a few times. I didn't appreciate their looks - I wanted to scream - okay, you both must have normal GI tracts, happy for you, but when someone else doesn't have a normal one, don't judge......

Okay so maybe they thought I was also crazy to pay pretty much $1.00 per pill. Maybe they think the product isn't all it's cracked up to be?

Who the heck knows......putting all of this aside.

I took it, 1 capsule at bedtime. No ill side effects from it, so far.

99.9% sure I know the answer to this ?, but for now, I put aside my other probiotics, correct? Feels odd to skip an entire day w/o probiotics but if this one pill is as potent as they say it is and I think it is, I'll be in good shape - soon.

Thanks again for replying on the other topic about how helpful this probiotic is for you. In the back of my mind, it was one more medication/supplement I had intended to try - in the "someday" way. Just never got around to it.

You were my inspiration.

As I completed my purchase, the young tech (girl of oh 18-20) smiled so I said - let's hope this is the awesome product everyone says it is! And I know she was thinking - I'm so glad I don't have a GI issue! Ah to be young I wanted to say.....

Marcia - I've gone off of VSL for now, went back on my Renew Life, 50 Billion count probiotic. I tried VSL, every other night, 1 capsule and it wasn't nearly enough, and for some odd reason, my gut seems to prefer doses of 50 mg of Colace and 1 or 2 50 Billion Count Probiotics every 12 hours. I have fewer stool putty issues and fewer dumping episodes, with this combo.

The VSL will be tried again, but not right now. Summer is such a busy time in our family, we own a boat and I have to fast before I go on it and while boating. That's a challenge but it can be done.

I also am looking for a new job and recently applied to two local ads. I really, really hope that one of them calls me Monday for an interview. I can't be messed up if I need to be available for interviews! (BTW, I've applied for jobs since early June, at least 50 online, no bites whatsoever, but these 2 recent ads sounded more promising).
