Hi there, I haven't yet been officially diagnosed with IBS, but I've been having the symptoms for the past 2 months and my mother has IBS and shes convinced I'm going to be the same.
I started noticing that I kept getting stomach cramps when I play football, or go on my normal run, it is like a feeling where you feel you can't go no faster, and it feels like you are trying hard to hold it in, and I get real gassy.
For instance, at football training last week, I came home, and at 1 in the morning I woke with bad cramps then had to relieve myself.
I was just wondering what if there is anything I can do to stop the cramping feeling whilst I'm playing sport, if there is anyway I can get rid of any gas prior to the event.
Also, is it common for IBS to come in spells. I was real bad around 5 weeks ago, since then it has eased and only flares when I play sport, or I eat something imparticular. Will it be worse at some times than others?
I've started making a list of everything I eat and drink, and I am trying to find out what things causes my flare ups.
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks
Michael
