Red spots in bowel?

Hi guys! Had my first colonoscopy today which went well and supported a diagnosis of IBS. Only thing was I'm sure I saw some red spots at one point while watching the monitor, kinda like wee blood blisters. I forgot to ask about them afterwards but was told there was nothing unusal to be seen. Anyone any idea what these could be and if I should be concerned about them?

Haven't a clue. Can say that some of the preps used for colonoscopy can cause irritation to the colon lining. Perhaps that is what you saw. I think you should place a call to the office of the doctor that did the procedure and ask them. Do it before he/she forgets who you are. That way your mind will be put at ease if you get an answer.

Thank you. I'll pop in on Monday and ask and report back. Seems odd, can't find anything similar on google, which I suppose is reassuring!

Well I popped round and they showed me the report which didn't mention anything. They were really busy so didn't want to push it, and felt a bit silly asking about something so random when I'd been told there was nothing to worry about. So I guess I'll never know! :-)

Oh and it was just the Nurse on the desk I spoke to, not the one who carried out the procedure. X
