I have somewhat indeterminate colitis, tending towards universal ulcative colitis throughout my colon but possibly crohns because biopsies show some inflammation in the terminal ileum that may or may not be so-called "backwash" ileitis from the UC.
The thing is, my symptoms of F, urgency, and worst if all, pain, can be severe even when my pancolitis shows up on biopsies as inactive (albeit once active, i e I definitely have IBD). Has anyone else here with Mild or in-remission IBD struggled with severe IBS? I am toying with the idea of trying things like rifaximin, since my own theory is that IBS and IBD are just different ends of a spectrum of gut gysbiosis and leaky gut. I trial and error my way through every nutrional and supplement approach under the sun, but oftentimes the only way I can get a bit kf relief is by backing off all supplements for a day or two. I normally take lots of high potency probiotics including VsL3, s boulardi and mutaflor, to name just a few.
