How do you know?

My dr diagnosed me with ibs over the phone. He put me dicyclomine 2x a day 30 minutes a day and told me to take milk of magnesia 2 x a day with upping my fiber intake.
I've done all of this and after being constipated for a week I am now having a bm a day but have lots of gas and abdominal bloating that worsens as the day goes by. Today the bloating isn't so bad, but it really hurts to make any move that involves my upper and lower quadrants. Bending at the waist is creating so much pain that it takes my breath away. I'm lying on the couch with a heating pad on my tummy but the pain is there even when not moving. I'm not sure what to do?

Is there anything I can do to help with this pain until tomorrow? I've tried the mixing baking soda and water to get rid of trapped gas, I've tried certain yoga positions, gas pills, and my dicyclomine. The heating pad helps a bit but the pain is constant in my right side and wraps around to my back. I'm not constipated and I have no gall bladder or appendicts. Any help would be wonderful.

Well, I called my gi and his nurse said its trapped gas and to just take some anti gas pills, which I did but it didn't help. I told her that and asked if maybe seeing a dietician would help since I can't seem to isolate what is getting to my stomach. She was very dismissive of that. She said I'm just going to have to learn what food is doing this.
I've scaled my diet all the way to a water, jello diet and slowly added foods. I do fine. No constipation and trapped gas. Then all of a sudden, I get hit hard by trapped gas that nothing works to alleviate.
I'm confused and tired of speaking to his nurse. She seems to think the pain it causes isn't a big deal but it reall hurts.

I asked his nurse for an appointment and she said shed have the receptionist call me which never happened.

I'm in northeast Arkansas. I'm a very squeaky wheel. Lol. I've been calling about these issues for 3 weeks now. They never let me talk to him, it always the nurse. She aggravates me because she acts like I'm dumb. I've done the elimination diet twice, with no food setting my ibs off. Even now my diet is reduced back to my "safe" fruits and veggies with the meds prescribed and I still get very painful bouts of trapped gas that just can not be treated with anything I've tried so far. It really hurts and she doesn't seem to care.
