I am sure many know about
this already but just in case some don't.
Blastocystis is a common parasite that causes Irritable bowel.
It is estimated that many are infected and do not know it. The medical world does not consider it a problem amoeba I have read.
You can get a stool test for it. Not sure if insurance covers it though.
My naturopathic doctor tested me, not an MD.
I had overgrowth of candida, bacteria and the parasite blastocystis.
The treatment for the parasite and bacteria are special antibiotics.
If you can, get this test. It cost me 95.00
I am just about
done with all the antibiotics. Although I had diarrhea for the first time in awhile last night, I am hoping when I am one with the candida treatment, my IBS will be under control. It is worth a try.
You can get blastocystis from pets and unwashed veggies, salad.
Before making a salad or veggies they can be soaked for 15 minutes in water treated with 12 drops of grapefruit seed extract. Rinse them well after the timer goes off before cooking or making a salad.
I have a bad habit of kissing my pets. Not sure if that can be stopped!!
