A percentage of people without their gall bladders will experience what you are describing. The function of the GB is to process bile but w/o a GB this bile sometimes gets dumped into the intestines. Causing dumping episodes, diarrhea, light brown or yellow output. What is often referred to as bile salts diarrhea.
What to do.
First off, eat a low fat diet, determine what can induce these dumping episodes, keep a food diary and then avoid these foods in the future. One person I know said she can no longer eat french fries or go to a lenten fish fry. Those days are just over for her.
You can try chewing Caltrate calcium pills with vitamin D, one with each meal each day. The calcium sometimes binds with the bile and reduces diarrhea.
You can also ask your doctor to prescribe a powder called Cholestyramine, this medication will bind with the bile and reduce diarrhea attacks (for some). You must take this medication 1 hour after other medications or not take other meds 4 hours after taking it, you mix in juice and then must brush your teeth right away. The mixture will damage your dental enamel if you allow it to sit on your teeth. I am currently on this medication, I've tried it in 3 or 4 phases over the past 2 years. At times, it's my miracle drug, but other times I don't notice it helping. But when it does help - WOW! I feel nearly normal.
There's another medication called Welchol, it works in a similar way that Cholestyramine does but it's a pill form.
