Pain after Colonoscopy

I had a Colonoscopy done Tuesday AM. Since, I have had lower abdominal and pelvic discomfort/weakness.

My bowel movements have been completely normal, in fact better than they were before the procedure and I dont have digestion pain or nausea, just physical pain. Anyone know what this may be?

You may have trapped gas. When they do the colonoscopy, they pump lots of air into the colon to help them visualize the colon. This is why most places tell you to pass the air out when you are in the recovery area. I'm thinking this might be the problem.

Or perhaps there was trouble passing the scope and they manipulated your abdomen to move the scope. Have you called the GI that performed the scope and told him/her about the pain?

JEC, hello. I've recently had my first colonoscopy and I didn't feel myself for a full week afterwards. I had some discomfort and nausea but it passed and am fine now. If it continues call your doctor and I'm sure you will be relieved to hear the reason, such as Ides has stated. I'm not saying that's what it is of course, we aren't doctors, but a call to the physicians office will most likely put your mind at ease. Let us know what you find out.
