I was officially diagnosed with IBS 6 years ago at the age of 15 but have had symptoms since I was 12. I have diarrhea prominent IBS and as you can imagine after 9 years of this I can't take it anymore. My symptoms have progressively gotten worse over the years. Currently it's to the point where any food can start it, any unusual smell in the mornings sets it off, I can't and haven't been able to eat or drink a thing till at least 2 hours of being awake or it sets it off. I have extremely painful cramping that goes along with this. I need advice from other people who have been suffering with this as long as me. The doctors really have no advice for me, I mean i'm 21 and have already had a colonoscopy due to bleeding with bowel movements. With all my IBS symptoms going on for all this time and getting worse i've been developing depression. I get so upset when I can't keep food in my body, after a very painful bowel movement and not being able to keep any weight on me. I'm looking for advice from others since my family and friends as supportive as they are just do not understand. Does anyone have anything that helps them?
