New to IBS and a bit scared.

Last year I was diagnosed with IBS after all the other tests and prodded came back negative. I thought it was just every now and again I would get D but after this weekend I am now kinda scared.

I had my first full blow attack. Stomach cramping sooooo painful it brought me to tears, diarrhea, muscle ache's, gas all of it over the course of 4 days today is the first day that I have not had the pain and I have a horrible headache. I called my doctor and he said "come in to the office make sure you have IBS and not something else" well I went in and guess what it was IBS and he said he could give me pain killers or I could get a MMJ card. I have been looking into MMJ but I work full time and I can not go to work on MMJ or Pain Killers. I guess I just wanted to vent a little and say I am scared for my future I can not work if they are like this and I don't ever want to feel like that again it was HORRIBLE, my poor fiance was scared and kept telling me to go to the hospital but I knew there was little that they could do. Guess I am just asking if this is going to be ok? I have changed my diet and stay away from spicy or greasy food. Drink lots of mint tea and am currently slamming water. Should I think about MMJ? what do I do if I am at work?

My fiance is a great rock for me and is there for me 100% at least I have him seems that everyone else my family and my friends just think I have some silly disease that is not real because my doctors are not "trying to cure me". Guess people don't take something seriously unless there is serious amounts of medication and hospital visits.


New to all of this so I would appreciate any help or understanding.
