I am 29 and just had a diagnostic laparoscopy yesterday morning. All I was told is I would have small incisions and that taking Motrin will help with incision pain. Once I woke up my stomach was in agony.
Took many pain meds till I was finally comfortable and they sent me home. Laying propped up with my legs up also I ended up napping for a couple of hours and now wish I would of slept more if I knew that's the most sleep I would have. I woke up this morning at 7am screaming and bawling in agony it was the most excruciating pain I couldn't get out of bed. My bf had to pull me out and it did not feel wonderful. Now u would think the pain came from my incision sites but it was both shoulders my back chest and diaphragm. Most excruciating pain I have ever experienced and I was not warned about this pain. I was only given Codeine and told to take Motrin well none of these
Are helping. Only time I feel comfort is when standing or sitting. I personally cannot sleep sitting up, laying down is too painful and I am afraid to attempt to sleep tonight as I am alone and won't have assistance if I need to get out of bed. Heat is helping and pressure around my neck and shoulders. I wish I knew this would happen so I would be better prepared for this horrible pain. Just wanted to share my story if anyone is wondering about the after effects of this surgery.
