Ibs with Bleeding Hems.

I suffer from IBS but after kids I got the bleeding hemorrhoids too. I am anemic. Well now with the three problems together I suffer severe blood loss to the point of needing transfusions. And I have had three. So with the three issues I watch what I eat and try to avoid foods that set off the ibs. But when I have an attack It can last for a week and nothing seems to curve it. Well by then I have lost a considerable amount of blood. And my body literally starts shutting down. The sepositories work but you cannot use them if you are suffering with the ibs at that time. I had the surgery on the hems and they came back. So how do I control the ibs? I get cold and have to go to the bathroom. What ways are there to control the nervousness that seems to cause the ibs attacks? I have been to doctors but none take the ibs seriously. Only the loss of blood. Thanks for any input.

I agree with Ides. You need to see a doc that can address this issue more seriously. I have both internal and external hems and not one of them caused me to bleed so much that it caused me to need a transfusion. If you haven't had a scope, I highly recommend you have one.

Personally it sounds like IBS is the least of your worries at the moment.
