Sounds to me like you really need to find another specialist. The symptoms you are having are not "normal" and need to be checked out.
As for the Botox you had done, glad that you feel it helped. Did they inject something along with the botox? I get Botox injections for migraines, for an eyelid spasm, and also in my bladder. I'm not sure why you have numbness. With everything I have learned from doctors and read about botox, I have never ever heard that one of the functions of botox is to numb an area. It will paralyze and relax the muscle, but my understanding is that the only time botox causes numbness is if it was done incorrectly and they hit a nerve. I'm really confused about it being numbed. Personally, I would not go back to that specialist. I would get a second opinion and question why you are numb. I'm sure it feels good though. Are you sure it's numb and not just very relaxed? When a muscle is paralyzed, you cannot move that muscle. It stops spasms. When I get the botox for migraines, for example, it relaxes the muscles in my scalp and even down my neck and in my forehead. I still have feeling there, but I can't raise my eyebrows.
I am sorry you are suffering so badly. I also have chronic constipation and at this point the only time I am able to go to the bathroom is every 2 weeks when I take a combination of laxatives and drink 1/2 gallon of the bowel prep stuff you have to drink usually for colonoscopy. So, I feel for you with that problem. The blood and your bowel habits need to be checked out by a good GI doc. s
Really hope you are able to find a good doc who will figure this out and find a way to treat whatever is going on with you. Good luck and keep us posted!
