I'm a 43 yr old female.
Had ibs since I was in late teens. I get both constipation and diarrhea/loose stools.
Diagnosed with acid reflux in 2001 at age 31.
This all acts up when stressed/anxious/panic attacks
I remember having these rotten egg tasting burps with diarrhea before. In October 2008, my whole family came down with a 24 hr bug days after my daughter came home from school and vomited. I had it all day. Once the diarrhea stopped, the rotten egg burps stopped.
My parents, who were visiting, also came down with the vomiting and diarrhea. All lasted 24 hours.
It literally hit all my family one day after another.
This past September, my anxiety came back full force.
Then in October, I spent 4 days in LA in a pretty nasty motel that actually was a hostel. I remember noticing the weird color bath water when I took a shower.
Exactly one month later, I came down with those rotten egg burps, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting for a whole day.
But then, it kept happening about every other month.
I've had it on these total dates.
The dates are:
Nov 5
Dec 14
Feb 9
April 3
May 14
June 23
July 27
All happen the same way. Rotten egg burps first, then diarrhea, then nausea which I hate so I make myself throw up. Once I get it all out, I am better.
The one thing I HAVE noticed with each of these episodes is they're getting less and less symptom wise.
I didn't even have nausea with the last episode, just the burps and a little diarrhea.
Could I have picked it up at that weird motel/hostel???
Since all this started, I have done much research and can't believe how many people have this SAME THING! Even in the same order.
What is the connecting link that makes so many people have this???
The fact I had this sickness back in 2008 after my daughter came home sick and vomited and it spread to my whole family tells me this is some kind of nasty bug.
How can so many people have this and doctors are perplexed?
I'm thinking giardasis. My brother in law had it yrs ago and he said it's hard to get rid of. His dr thought he got it from contaminated food off a food truck that visits the construction site.
Has anyone else figured this out??
I don't like it that I get this every 6-7 weeks!
