In October 2012 I got the norovirus it lasted 5 days and I was very unwell with it as it cleared up I wasn't back to my normal self then a week later I was admitted to hospital with gastroentritis I was then in hospital for 6 days being treated with IV antibotics which was a disaster in the making. After I still wasn't back to my normal self so I went to see a gastroentroligist he didn't take me 100% seriously but said I had post infectious IBS from getting the stomach bug its left me with a vomiting phobia and serious anxiety.
My new gastroentroligist I am currently under has done all the tests to see what is wrong with my stomach, I have been on many medications but I get constant upper stomach pain which nobody can find the cause of its not something that just comes and goes but instead its constant a daily thing which has put me off my food and make me very nauseous. With my IBS I get bad stomach cramps, constipation but not too often as I do eat alot with fibre in to keep myself going constantly (sorry tmi) but now I feel like my consultant is just trying to fobb me off and get rid of me nobody understands what I go through I used to weigh 9 stone and have now gone down to 6 stone which is 38kg when I feel good I do eat but not huge portions as I cannot handle it so for some reason I am just not putting weight back on I am very interested in medicine so I have done my own research and everything leads me with gallbladder problems.
My upper stomach pain keeps me up at night, sometimes makes me very anxious and scared what is wrong with me and it feels like a very sharp pain which stays for hours at a time I do have a heat pad but that does very little nowdays to ease my pain.
My question now is: Is it really IBS or something else? I am getting so fustrated at this whole situation I am also lactose intolerant as many with IBS have but this upper stomach pain is really getting me down doctors are convinced now I am scared to eat due to my stomach pain and anxiety problems but that ISN'T the case they don't understand I am somedays in agony with this upper stomach pain
If ANYONE can give me any advice or help it would be greatly appreciated as I am at the end of my tether about this whole situation and now desperate to know thank you very much
