Havent passed gas in 10 months

I've had rectal pain and swelling for most of this time. In April I had a colonoscopy and they just found an anal fissure along with some skin tags. That can explain the rectal pain, but I cant figure out why I cant pass gas. It reaches the center of my lower pelvic area (rectosigmoid?) and the gas just gets stuck there. When I feel a stool pass through that area I get sharp knife-like rectal pains.
What could this be a sign of? Is there any way to force this gas out?

When I say I haven't passed gas, the gas could very well be expelled when I make a bowel movement. But other than that, I haven't been able to pass gas by itself. I don't know how to put it any other way than as crudely as this; this entire time I haven't made a single audible fart. That strikes me as incredibly bizarre as I used to do it every day.

I just had an anoscopy done today. The doctor informed me that my fissure is fully healed and these sharp intestinal spasms & bloating are probably IBS related.

Here's the thing though. I'm 25 years old. For my entire life I've never had any kind of digestive problems whatsoever aside from mild constipation (I hardly ever get diarrhea). 10 months ago I took a high dosage of the antibiotic Cipro and my whole digestive system went nuts. I had the full spectrum from diarrhea to constipation and everything in between,plus intense pressure of the abdomen. This pain still continues today.

If antibiotics brought on this IBS problem, is there no way to reverse it? Am I bound with this crappy disease for life by simply taking a weeks worth of pills?

Antibiotics affect our gut by causing SIBO or Candida overgrowth (or both). SIBO is treated with certain kind of antibiotic (Rifaximin) that only affects your bowels, and for Candida you usually take Nystatin. While on this treatment you should follow a low-carb diet in order to starve yeast and bacteria (they only feed on sugar) and take probiotic supplements. Unfortunately no doctor will tell you that you should reduce your sugar intake while on course of antibiotics and very few of them will advise you to take probiotic supplements. It's easier to just diagnose you with IBS (which is in fact gluten, lactose, fructose intolerance, SIBO or yeast overgrowth). Hope this helps and good luck.
