When I first had IBS about
15 years ago, it was more like just a terrible inconvenience...I would have diarrhea, never knowing when, and then after a number of times, it would 'go away'... It kept me from doing SO many things and going many places...but I never had 'other' symptoms that I had read about
.
There were long periods of times when my IBS would just subside... and not too long ago, my grain free (like Paleo) diet stopped all my diarrhea. But I ended up (my own fault) with a dangerously low sodium and chloride blood test and stopped the Paleo...and ate just about
anything again.
Just lately my IBS has changed symptoms... I wake up and feel nausea, usually have to sprint to the bathroom...and then I just feel 'sick' for quite awhile... Sometimes most of the day. To describe this 'sick' is hard to do... its just a worn out, sick feeling. No 'great' pain...just enough to remind you that you don't really feel well. To me, THIS is worse that my 'old IBS' pattern... Now I am usually aware of my bowel discomfort, and when you 'concentrate' on it, you feel worse ... So... I am starting different ways of eating, and trying different supplements, and hope it helps!
Just thought I'd post in hopes that maybe this helps someone who might be wondering about
such a marked change in the symptoms of their IBS. Good luck to everybody!
